At the Muslim Scout Fellowship, we are devoted to supporting the development of high quality Muslim Scout programmes. In order to achieve this, the MSF Programme Team continues to collate best practice from the community, and create engaging initiatives for both groups and MSF events.
Project Deliver and Develop
We understand that developing programmes pioneered by Islamic values that holistically develop our young people and fit into the Scouting framework can be a demanding job. To address this, the MSF Team are developing a platform to capture and share the crème de la crème of programmes & sessions for all sections! We want to encourage everyone to benefit from each others’ tried and tested methods, wisdoms and experiences.
To support this, we have developed various initiatives, such as:
Year programmes:
The Full Year Programmes have been curated by experienced leaders from groups who have been delivering high quality programmes for their section. The Year Plan provides a basic idea of what an enriching programme can look like, but has enough space for leaders to innovate and supplement it to suit their Young People best.
Spiritual Development Guide
The SDG is designed to enrich your sessions by integrating Islamic principles with your activities to earn each badge. The guide aims to provide you with creative and meaningful ways to engage with your Young People, helping them grow spiritually while also having fun.
While these guides provide activity ideas to supplement your sessions, we encourage all leaders to constantly be in a process of innovating and adapting their programmes to provide the best possible journey for your Young People. One’s scouting experience is a pivotal part of a young person’s development, and your impact can positively influence the way they experience the world.
Seasonal Activity Guides
To inspire our Young People to be proud of their Muslim identity and become pioneers of change in their communities, we have curated activity packs to mark key dates in the calendar. The Seasonal Activity guides support groups who wish to align their programmes with the Islamic calendar, or with dates that hold importance to the Muslim community.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Islamophobia Awareness Month
- Hajj
- Eid
Events
Our programmes at various MSF events are designed to facilitate an environment that challenges our Young People through various scouting activities and offers a space for spiritual reflections. In providing our programmes, we hope to contribute to your groups programmes, as well as inspire leaders to adapt our activities in your own sessions!
Key Events include:
- Iftar Under The Stars
- Regional Summer Camps
- International Jamborees
- Regional activity Days
We Share Because We Care…
Join us in this inspiring endeavour and gain the barakah of shaping thousands of young peoples’ experiences of Muslim Scouts! If you have a Term programme you’d like to share with us, are happy for a member of the MSF Team to film your session, or want to support the production of a Seasonal Activity Pack, please email programme@ukmsf.org.
Thank you for volunteering your time and efforts to be a leader. We ask Allah to allow our resources to support the development of the young people into confident and well-rounded individuals, and to allow us all to facilitate the passing down of knowledge, wisdom, and love for Islam through our Muslim Scouts programmes. Ameen.
